Female paraplanners must ignore need to 'fit the mould'

“Paraplanners are highly technical and analytical, and the language they use often reflects this. We spend our time researching and writing up reports, as well as solving queries. 

“On the other hand, an adviser is client facing, and must harness their relationship building skills. They must be able to explain complex and technical issues in a clear and friendly manner that makes it easy for the client to understand. They will spend a lot of time networking, relationship building, and hosting meetings.

“While both paraplanners and advisers are working towards the same goal, to help the client achieve their objectives through good advice, they do this in quite different ways,” she explained.
