Less than a quarter of advisers ready for consumer duty

Another topic of interest for advisers was technology and how artificial intelligence developments might impact their businesses.

According to the results, advisers are split on the likely impact with 57 per cent reporting that they think the development of AI technology applications such as ChatGPT represented a potential opportunity for their business. 

Meanwhile, 43 per cent saw it as a potential threat.

Despite this, 73 per cent of advisers anticipate incorporating AI based technology applications in their advice process in some way in the future.
