The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has declared Intelligent Wealth Management Partnership Ltd in default.

The FSCS told FT Adviser it had received two claims to date relating to the firm, both of which were related to pensions advice.

One of the claims has been upheld, which led to the default declaration, while the other is still in process.

The firm's registration as an appointed representative with the Financial Conduct Authority ended in September 2019. It shows the firm was based in Lichfield, Staffordshire.

IWMP was the 10th firm to fail under the FSCS in October.

On October 23, London-based European American Capital Services Ltd was declared in default.

The FSCS received seven claims against the firm all relating to general investments with one upheld so far.
