'What’s the big deal with AI?'

If I had just had a bereavement and had to sort my finances, would I want a machine to do this for me? No. 

I would much prefer to speak to a human who would have empathy and the ability to help me through this difficult situation. And that is why advisers will always be better than AI.

But I do believe the optimal solution would be a combination of both human and machine. 

Let machines do the heavy lifting with data and the humans takeover when it comes to the actual advice.

If the profession allows itself to be more open to this it could become a match made in heaven.

But maybe too many of us are unwilling to let our guards down right now.
