'Pot for life pensions would be complex, but the real problem is governance'

Instead, we should have a more honest conversation about the need to increase contributions. If more money is paid into pensions, people will have more money when they retire, and more money will be available to invest in the economy along the way. Those are not simply hypothetical statements.

The roadmap for pensions policy should be centred around the adequacy of contributions, and digitalisation through delivery of the pensions dashboard, rather than taking the scenic route of trying other, less certain ideas. They can come later.
