What role does consumer duty play?

The FCA has hinted at the possibility of a less prescriptive approach to regulation if consumer duty leads to a permanent shift in culture.

The personal finance sector is in a process of further evolution with several milestones already reached, including RDR, the vulnerable customer and next up, consumer duty.

The recently launched Consumer Duty Alliance is an independent professional body for the sector, by the sector and presents an opportunity to truly unite and build the same public confidence and trust we have managed to achieve as individuals, for the profession we represent and in turn achieve the parity of esteem we aspire too.

Being part of an independent professional alliance doesn’t impact individuality or the importance of diversity and competition, it fully embraces it and augments the culture of every alliance member.

It’s time to become a united profession and fulfil our destiny with parity of esteem.

You can join the Alliance here.
