7IM has created a head of platform role as part of a multi-million investment.

Sam Christopher is set to take on the new role after more than three years as Fidelity's head of proposition.

She said: "I have admired the business for many years, for its innovative, proprietary technology and its longstanding and respected approach for delivering unbeatable service and solutions for clients. I am very much looking forward to working with such a talented team."

She is expected to start the position in September.

Christopher previously worked in a variety of senior roles at M&G, Aegon, L&G and Cofunds.

It is the latest in a series of senior hires by 7IM

In April it announced a major expansion of its transformation team with four new hires and two promotions.

Russell Lancaster, managing director for platform and intermediary partnerships at 7IM said: "7IM has a history of outstanding service and putting advisers and clients first. To keep doing this, we not only need to continue to ‘stand in the shoes’ of our clients, but also continue to invest in our people as well as our proposition.

"Sam will play an essential part in this, and her appointment is vital to our strategy to continuously enhance and evolve our platform and the overall experience it delivers."

It comes after investment into the business by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, which announced it would take a majority stake in the firm for around £255mn.

7IM said it plans for further recruitment this year as it "seeks to cement itself as one of the leading vertically integrated players in the wealth management industry".
