St James's Place has been relegated from the FTSE 100 and Liontrust has failed to make it into the FTSE 250.

The wealth manager, which has seen shares fall by 57 per cent in the past year, will drop out of the index on June 24.

A FTSE Russell review, published today (June 6) confirmed three companies will be removed from the index.

This also included electrical products distributor RS Group and online grocery company Ocado.

They will be replaced by Darktrace, London Metric Property and Vistry Group.

Alongside the trio there are three other companies joining the FTSE 250.

These are, Alpha Group International, Renewi and XPS Pensions Group.

In an indicative quarterly review, published last week, it was expected Liontrust may join the index.

However, the asset manager has failed to make the cut.

Exits from the FTSE 250, includes Octopus Renewables Infrastructure trust.
