A random selection of existing Vanguard investment customers will have the chance to test out a new app.
This week (April 17) Vanguard UK Personal Investor customers could register their interest in testing the app, via a form served to them on their log-out page.
The firm will then invite a selection to test it out.
This early version of the app will include:
- Account overviews: sight of investment performance, fund holdings, and asset mix
- Transactions: sight of buy and sell orders, along with regular orders.
- Buying and selling: single payment, regular payment and adding cash, as well as selling down to a bank account or cash.
Vanguard said the intention of the app is to provide an “easy-to-use experience for long-term investors”.
It added the app was not designed to encourage short term trading or speculation.
The firm first revealed it was considering launching an app for UK private investors back in February.
It is understood Vanguard will use this testing phase to gather client feedback before formally launching the app in the UK.
There is no time-scale of when the app will be released more widely to customers.
In February, Vanguard also launched an online training hub as a “helping hand” for advisers in the face of regulatory change and challenging market conditions.
