BMO Global Asset Management has launched an adviser service pledged to help IFAs navigate complex financial issues while gaining continuing professional development.
The fund house, which announced the launch of BMO Adviser Edge today (November 14), said the primary focus of the service would be 'on the road' technical seminars, supplemented by an online hub for financial advisers, planners and paraplanners.
Practice management — such as information on regulatory changes, best practice and business development ideas from industry experts — will feature on the site, alongside technical notes, case studies and webinars on financial planning.
The seminars, which BMO hopes will provide insight to deliver better customer outcomes, will be held several times a year across the country.
BMO stated the seminars would include areas such as inheritance tax, trust and estate planning and retirement planning and tax, and advisers gain CPD hours for attending.
The first run of BMO Adviser Edge seminars, developed and deliver by a new team created for the service, will on from November 26 to December 5.
It will be on 'Financial Planning with Trusts' and will look at the upcoming requirement to incorporate ESG considerations into client suitability assessments.
Mark Parry, head of UK strategic & technical dales at BMO, said: “Regulatory change and uncertain markets pose tough questions for forward thinking advisers and clients. Against this backdrop, advisers have told us they’d welcome additional support to stay on top of these rapidly changing external factors, as well as internal factors such as practice management.
“We created BMO Adviser Edge to help advisers navigate these changes. We’re acutely aware of the need to provide advisers with technical information that keeps them fully informed. Through the seminars and online platform, we’re able to provide readily available information along with in depth, face to face educational sessions.”
BMO plans to introduce CPD tracking through the platform in 2020.
