Henderson fund manager takes extended leave

Chris Burvill, joint manager of the £2.2bn Henderson Cautious Managed fund, has taken a period of extended leave from his role for medical reasons, the company has confirmed.

The fund will continue to be run by the other co-managers, John Pattullo, Jenna Barnard, and Stephen Payne.

Mr Burvill was the longest serving of the managers on the fund, having been at the helm since 2003.

He said: "I am confident that the Janus Henderson Cautious Managed fund is in very capable hands.

"I have worked side by side with Stephen since 2016 and alongside John and Jenna for over five years. I remain invested in the fund and have full confidence that it will run seamlessly in my absence and continue to aim to deliver strong risk adjusted, long-term performance."

The fund is in the IA Mixed Investment 20 to 60 per cent equity sector, and has underperformed the sector average over the past one, three and five years.
