“However, this is slightly backword-looking data,” added Mr. Smaje. “Some VCTs have done well, and some not so well. What you are looking for is a strong track record that shows you that there is a strategy and a process that they can repeat going forwards.
"What are they investing in? How are they finding their investment opportunities? How are they screening them? The track record in this part of the market is really important, but you’ve got to know the manager and understand the investment strategy.”
